Take The Path Through the Woods

This landscape painting represents the beauty of a diverse ecosystem, and the environmental importance of a protected area.  I hope to ignite a passion to protect our natural places.  This path is set amid a forest of western larch, immature lodgepole pine and black alder that covers the surrounding hillside, and provides habitat for deer, elk, and moose.  To hike through this magnificent forest in the spring, and smell the fragrance of the pines is what led to this spark of inspiration. The forest wild flowers of the columbine, lupines, and bright yellow arnica are represented in the foreground of the painting, and brighten the landscape.
